There is something about this book that makes me keep reading The poor main character seems to be traumatised by her bad relation experience, having nightmares and haunted by ex bf While I can relate to some of her feelings, the main character is also wrong for ignoring her intuition in a relationship. After reading this book, although I know I will not be as stupid as the main character, but I also realised how unpredictable a man can be He can be very loving in the beginning, then just suddenly becomes distant and cold I guess this is my fear now I do not know though, how to avoid a man like this. I read all Kathleen Stewart s novels now In the last 10 years or so, having discovered her late I just love her style, rhythm and characters She is very present in her writing as well and her attitude as a writer has a dignity rarely seen these days In her content, she often opposes selfish darkly manipulative characters or situations to perhaps naively trusting vulnerable ones Sometimes these opposites are in one person s mind Isn t life just like that I just wait for her new novel, as always, impatiently I hope she writes it before kick the can
