I d have to say that this is my least favorite of all of the Austin novels I ve read so far I was at least half way through volume one before most of the characters became appealing Once I began volume two the overall story line became much interesting, however I thought that the conclusion was rushed We all know that Austin novels end in happy marriages or perhaps what she would call good matches However, if you re planning to read Mansfield Park for the first time my advice would be to focus on how the relationship between the two families instead of the fairytale ending. I do love Jane Austen, but of all her books I liked this the least Fanny as a heroine was just too wimpy for my taste It s probably one of the books that I ve ever read where I can truly say I like the movie version better than the book. Who doesn t love jane Austen I loved this story, It wa a little painful at times but it just makes you want to know. I enjoy this story, but it dragged at times Still was worth reading.
